Scientists Say Asbestos Exposure Can Cause Cardiovascular Death

Dr. Anne-Helen Harding with the Buxton Health and Safety Laboratory and his team observed death after developing cardiovascular disease among 98,912 people who had been exposed to asbestos during their job.

The research team discovered that workers exposed to asbestos had considerably high mortality rate from cerebrovascular illness and ischemic heart disease.

“The study’s findings provide some proof for a link between occupational asbestos exposure and cardiovascular illness mortality among workers,” Harding said.
