The Vincent city is moving to legal proceedings in a bid for recouping the expenses of cleaning up contaminated properties in a West Perth plant fire.
Environmental authorities were still cleaning up asbestos last week from nearby properties, with the tasks costing around $150,000.
According to a report to the council, funding was not at all available for the work in the budget of the city.
In a Tuesday meeting, the city was authorized by the councillors to take every necessary action, such as employing its solicitor to recoup the expenses from the owner.
The plant has been vacant for approximately 4 years and noticed by the City due to its neglected and dilapidated nature.
